Welcome to our Bunny in a Carrot Bag Photo Tutorial!

In addition to the written instructions, here are some photos to help you assemble your Bunny & Carrot Bag.

Cut out the bunny templates (you can glue them to thin card, before cutting for long lasting use!)

Fold the fawn piece of felt in half & draw round the bunny body & ear pieces, with a pencil. Draw round the tummy, tail & ear inners, in the contrasting colour.

Cut out the felt pieces, by cutting just inside the pencil lines.

Stitch the ear inners to the ears, tummy pad to one body piece & tail to the other body, using normal sewing thread & a running stitch.

Stitch the ear pieces together, starting at the side, using normal sewing thread & stop 3 cm from where you started sewing, leaving the thread attached.

Stuff the ears with small amounts of stuffing - this could be made up of your felt off cuts cut into small pieces, stuffing from an old cushion or an old holey sock (clean) cut into small pieces! Pushing them in using your finger or a pencil. Finish sewing the ears closed.

Lightly draw on the eyes, nose & mouth with a pencil. Stitch on the drawn lines, using the embroidery threads & running or back stitch or French knots.

Position the ears at the back of the front body & pin or sew in place.

Put both bunny pieces together, sandwiching the ears & stitch around the bunny, starting from the bottom, going towards the head, with normal sewing thread. As you stitch around the head, make sure the ears are stitched on securely. Stop 4 cm from where you started sewing, leaving the thread attached.

Put small amounts of stuffing into the bunny, until you’re happy with it’s shape.

Finish sewing the bunny closed.

And now you have your very own Felt Bunny!

Carrot

Cut out your carrot & leaf templates (you can glue them to thin card, before cutting for long lasting use!)

Fold the felt pieces in half & cut out the carrot & leaf shapes, in the orange & green felt.

Stitch the leaf pieces together, using normal sewing thread & running stitch.

Carefully make a cut 1/3 down from top, across one of the carrot pieces for the bunny to lie in. It’s easier to fold the carrot piece in half lengthwise & carefully cut across from the fold, stopping 1.5 cms from the edge.

Lay the sewn leaf piece, between the carrot pieces & stitch through all the layers. Continue to stitch around the carrot.

And now your Bunny has a Carrot Bag to sleep in!!
